The Chao Phraya River is a great way to bypass the traffic that clogs most of the city. The vessels of Chao Phraya Express Boat (fares from B10 to B32, depending on distance) can get crowded, especially at peak times, but they're still far more pleasant than sitting in a taxi as it navigates bumper-to-bumper traffic. The company also operates a tourist boat that serves eight piers near sightseeing attractions. A one-day pass (B150) for this boat can also be used to board express boats.
