National Parks and Panama Canal
PONANT takes you to discover Costa Rica and Panama through an 8-day expedition cruise. A beautiful circuit aboard the Champlain, between nature reserves, meetings with local communities and crossing the Panama Canal.
Your journey in Central America will begin with the visit of two superb Costa Rican national parks: the park Carara and Manuel Antonio National Park. In the heart of the rainforest or canopy, you may be lucky enough to observe birds with multicolored plumage, monkeys, crocodiles and iguanas.
The Champlain will then join the magnificent Darien National Park in Panama. This small corner of paradise inscribed on the World Heritage of Unesco shelters a remarkable fauna and flora. Sandy beaches, rocky coasts, mangroves, swamps and tropical forests compete with beauty, to the delight of photographers. It will also be an opportunity to meet the astonishing semi-nomadic community of the Emberas .
After the mythical crossing of the Panama Canal , linking the Pacific to the Atlantic, you will enjoy the white sands and translucent waters of Holandes Cayes , in the heart of the coral islands of the San Blas archipelago.
