TRAVEL TIPS

Planning Your Time

With two to four days, you can explore most of Tel Aviv and still have time for the beach. Although it's not a huge area to cover, see the city in geographical order. Start with Old Jaffa in the south, and amble through the art galleries, flea market, and fishing port. Jaffa can also be a good choice in the evening for strolling, low-key restaurants, and wine bars. From here, it's a short walk north to Neve Tzedek. Shop, dine, check out the well-restored buildings, and catch an evening dance performance at the Suzanne Dellal Centre. In the center of town, don't miss the Bauhaus buildings of the White City or the Nahalat Binyamin market (on Tuesday or Friday). If you have more time, head to the Museum of the Jewish People, the Palmach Museum, and the Eretz Israel Museum, as well as Hayarkon Park for boating or cycling. Tel Aviv Port is a good place for trendy dining and nightlife.
