The Lakelands is a region consisting of 12 counties--Monaghan, Cavan, Leitrim, Longford, Roscommon, Westmeath, Offaly, Tipperary, Galway, Clare, Limerick, and Kerry--connected by approx. 380km of River Shannon.

In the Upper Lakelands, drumlin-strewn landscapes, forest walks, and bustling market towns are nestled among a multitude of rivers and a string of 400 lakes, including Lough Key and Lough Allen. In the Lower Lakelands, Lough Derg (known as ‘Ireland’s Pleasure Lake’), surrounded by rolling farmland and wooded hillsides, encompasses 32,000 acres of spectacular waterway, the perfect backdrop for a water sport adventure.
