Canyon Run Rafting Adventure

Canyon Run Rafting Adventure

For guests wanting more whitewater excitement, the Canyon Run Rafting Adventure Tour offers category 3 rapids (medium-sized waves, fast current, and obstacles that need to be maneuvered around) and category 4 rapids (large waves, very fast current and difficult maneuvers, river level permitting). Hang on! It’s whitewater ahead!

You will get wet and enjoy every minute of it as your raft heads for Healy, 11 miles down the Nenana River. Get into real whitewater rafting as you hang on through thrilling rapids such as the “Cable Car,” the “Coffee Grinder,” and the “Ice Worm!”

Your first adventure is getting into your provided Gore-Tex drysuit. Drysuits were developed for people working and/or playing around freezing cold water, providing you with a waterproof exterior layer to wear over your own insulating layers. This provides the most comfortable rafting experience possible. Gore-Tex drysuits come with latex gaskets at the neck and wrists, and latex socks to keep your feet dry. Raft in comfort in and out of the water with full range of movement. We provide neoprene booties that slip over the latex sock, allowing your feet to warm themselves with your own body heat. A Coast Guard-approved Type V lifejacket is provided.

You will be led by a knowledgeable river rafting guide on a great rafting experience. If you wish to paddle during your adventure, please be aware that it requires a minimum of five or more paddlers. Please indicate “number of guests wanting to paddle” when placing your order only if you want to paddle. Paddling is based on a minimum and cannot be guaranteed.

Please Note: Raft types (oar or paddle) cannot be mixed; the guide will try to accommodate you on the same paddle raft or oar raft.

If you are staying in the Talkeetna area, (McKinley Princess Lodge, Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge etc.) you are approximately 100 miles from the Denali Park main gate area, from where this tour departs . You are responsible for your own transportation to the Denali area.

Day 1

Denali National Park and Preserve is an adventurer’s paradise! This scenic landscape and arctic tundra in the Alaska wilderness is one of the country’s most beautiful national parks, and with over six millions acres of land, the park offers plenty of exhilarating activities, breathtaking hikes, and majestic sights, all of which will leave you in awe. Go off-roading in an ATV through winding stretches of Denali forests, fly above snow-capped Denali Mountain and the Alaska range, take a rafting excursion along the Talkeetna and Susitna Rivers, or zip-line past massive spruce trees. While in the park, you’ll likely spot some spectacular wildlife, including grizzly bears, golden eagles, moose, and wolves. Untouched by urban light pollution, Denali National Park is the perfect site for stargazing; you may even catch a glimpse of the resplendent Aurora Borealis as it weaves through the sky.
