Casablanca Sightseeing
Explore comopolitan Casablanca, learning the secrets of this enchanting Moroccan gem that seamlessly fuses modernity and tradition.
Start your tour at the splendid Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in Africa. The intricate Islamic architecture of the mosque is a showstopper, from the nearly 700-foot-tall minaret overlooking the Atlantic Ocean to the meticulous tilework that adorns the structure. Admire marble flooring, gilded cedar ceilings, hand-carved stone and wood, and more as you explore the opulent mosque.
From the Hassan II Mosque, make your way into the bustling heart of the city to the lively Mohammed V Square. Architecture enthusiasts will enjoy the chance to see the impressive surrounding buildings, included the French-inspired courthouse, the striking clock tower, and an ornate central fountain. It’s a convivial space in which to soak up everyday Moroccan life.
Continuing your journey, explore the energetic Habous Quarter, often referred to as the “New Medina.” The neighborhood was rebuilt by the French in the early 20th century, respecting Moroccan styles and habits. Along the narrow alleyways, take in the sights and sounds of colorful markets and traditional shops, and the wonderfully fragrant spice stalls. Everything from handwoven carpets and pottery imported from Fez and Safi, to fresh produce and seasoned olives, is sold here.
Finally, head to the picturesque Corniche promenade along the sea. Brimming with restaurants, parks, shops, and more, this is the ideal place for a leisurely stroll along the shoreline as you take in breathtaking vistas of the Atlantic Ocean.
Please Note: The admission fee for Hassan II Mosque (14 EUR) is not included in the tour price and is payable on the day of the tour.
