Begin your tour by heading north from your George Town port destination to North Side via a scenic ride aboard a comfortable vehicle. Your tour takes you through the large tropical forest that surrounds the centuries-old caves of the Crystal Caves. The Crystal Caves helped form this lush green space, which is home to a wide variety of wildlife and tropical plants. Get your camera ready and catch a glimpse of the bats napping in the caves or flying from tree to tree, blue iguana, Cuban tree frogs, and other wildlife that call the tropical forest home.
Once you arrive at your destination, you’ll head to the caves on foot and learn about the wildlife and plants in the tropical forest from your tour guides, such as the Red Birch tree and Pepper Cinnamon tree–a tree that has a peppery taste and cinnamon aroma. You’ll descend down the walkways of the caves and get to admire the grandeur of the glistening stalactite and stalagmite rock formations that give the Crystal Caves its mystic appearance. These crystal structures hang and stand upright like icicles from caves’ roofs and floors and take thousands of years to form with the help of single water drops. At the end of your tour, you’ll enjoy another scenic ride back to the pier in George Town via your transfer.
