If you have scuba diving fears or need additional information before taking the leap to invest more time and money in scuba diving, then this fun and informative Costa Maya excursion is for you. This scuba diving instructional session will provide you the information and courage to take the next steps towards becoming certified.

Through a guided overview of diving, you will be introduced to the basic rules and equipment needed. You’ll even partake in some water exercises. Your guide will walk you through all the diving necessities before entering into shallow waters with you. Dive supervision is constant, and waters are never deeper than 12 meters (40 feet), so you will feel safe and secure during the entire experience.

This is not a diving course in itself, but rather an overview of diving. The intended purpose of this learning opportunity is to entice you into taking the next step and to eventually explore the wonderful underwater world. Day 1 This small cruise port is located in Mexico's Yucatan peninsula south of Playa del Carmen, near Belize. It is famous for Chacchoben, a breathtaking set of Mayan ruins. The port has a new and modern shopping mall and the central plaza has saltwater pools and 'swim-up' style bars for tourists to enjoy.

Guests must be able to get in and out of the boat. The minimum age to dive is 10 years of age. This tour is not wheelchair accessible. Only reef safe sunscreen is allowed. Health restrictions apply, and participants must complete and sign the Medical Statement, Assumption of Risk, and Liability Release Forms. Please CLICK HERE to view medical forms. Local authorities are encouraging guests to wear UV-protective clothing and not use sunscreen (regular or biodegradable) in an effort to prevent the spread of the coral disease known as White Syndrome.
