Sir Bani Yas is the largest natural island in the United Arab Emirates, located southwest of Abu Dhabi in the Persian Gulf.
As a bird sanctuary as well as a wildlife reserve, Sir Bani Yas is home to many species, from Arabian oryx, gazelle and deer to giraffes, dolphins and sea turtles, to more than one hundred species of wild birds. Activities offered to view the free=roaming wildlife include adventure safaris, kayaking, mountain biking, archery, hiking and snorkeling. The island features several historical sites as well, including early Islamic structures, a 7th-century monastery, and remnants of late Stone Age settlements.
