Eco Walk And Beach Break

Eco Walk and Beach Break

To make your Caribbean vacation complete, explore the raw jungle and lush canopy of Roatan on an Eco-walk, and then enjoy its most popular beach on this Roatan excursion.

After meeting your driver at the pier, you will make your way to the island’s West End, approximately a 30-minute drive, where your jungle exploration takes place.

Setting out with your guide, you will descend down into the raw jungle of Roatan Island, walking over paved paths, wooden steps, and suspension bridges while keeping an eye out for tropical flowers, “Tarzan” vines, birds, lizards, iguanas, fruit and nut trees and amazing views. This is a great trip for photographers!

The suspension bridges have a width of four feet and a capacity for 10 people. They vary in length from 150 feet to 200 feet, making them the longest and strongest bridges in the Western Caribbean. They range in height from 20 to 85 feet above the ground. The walking portion of the tour lasts about 40 minutes and covers approximately one mile.

Next on your Roatan excursion, you will drive to the beach, where you can splash in the sea at nearby West Bay. Here, you will have approximately 1-hour to beach walk, swim, rent snorkel gear, or just zone out in a sunbeam, under a palm tree, or at the nearby beach bar and restaurant where food and cold drinks can be purchased. Beach chairs are also available for rental. All too soon, it is time to return to reality. Your driver will meet you for the drive back to the cruise pier.

Guests wishing to stay longer at the beach will be responsible for their own transportation back to the pier.

Day 1 Roatan is the largest of the eight islands known collectively as Las Islas de la Bahia (Bay Islands). Brilliant clear blue waters and palm fringed beaches are cooled by gentle trade winds. An extensive reef system offers the most spectacular diving and snorkeling in the Western hemisphere, while inland nature reserves give an up-close look at native wildlife, including monkeys, sloths, and parrots. After a day spent underwater, take time to shop and dine on local eats near the shores of French Harbor and Brick Bay.
