Want to escape for a day from the bustling city life of London? On this scenic tour, you will experience the serenity of the English countryside, with visits to some of England’s most famous attractions.
You will begin your tour by traveling to Wiltshire county, where you will enjoy fast-track entry to the world-famous monument known as Stonehenge. Constructed in 3000 B.C., this impressive circular arrangement of towering stones attracts thousands of visitors each year. Like all visitors, you will marvel at the immense size of these stone structures and the ingenuity of the society that built them. Mystified by this magnificent monument, you will venture on to your next stop, the Georgian city of Bath, where you will have free time to shop and explore. Bath is the birthplace of the famous author, Jane Austen, and home to the famous ruins of the Roman Baths. While strolling through its quaint streets, you will be delighted by the splendid architecture and picturesque setting.
Departing from Bath, take a scenic journey north to Stratford, right through the heart of the lush English countryside. The Cotswolds’ colossal churches and vibrant market towns will amaze you. After enjoying the scenic views of the Cotswolds, you will tour Stratford upon Avon, which is the birthplace of renowned playwright William Shakespeare. On arrival you will be shown around Shakespeare’s historic school and enjoy a school lesson! This delightful day trip from London offers the best of the English countryside in one lovely day.
Please Note: This tour departs from the Victoria Coach (Bus) Station, a 5 minute walk from the Victoria Train Station. This tour is intended for your pre/post cruise experience. Please be advised that the tour departure location is an approximately 2 hour drive from the port. You must find your own way to the tour departure location (at your own expense). There are many options, such as taking a taxi, train, bus, or any combination of the above.
