Golf At Belmont Hills Country Club
Golf at Belmont Hills Country Club
Grab your clubs, put on your spikes, and meet the challenge of your golfing life: Bermuda’s Belmont Hills. Are you up to it?
Professional course designer Algie M. Pulley Jr. literally moved mountains to design the semi-private Belmont Hills course back in 2002. The veteran California architect found an existing layout that was largely featureless. However, after the most extensive golf course rebuilding project Bermuda has ever seen, a new topography emerged.
Today, every one of the 6,100 yards of intense bunkering, multitiered greens, and slender fairways will thoroughly test your shot-making abilities. Pulley created a magnificent, contoured layout that maximizes the golfer’s experience while showcasing Bermuda’s captivating beauty. Panoramic views of Hamilton Harbour and the Great Sound provide the backdrop for some of the finest 18 holes on the island.
Belmont Hills’ greens are built to USGA standards and sprigged, naturally enough, with Tiff Eagle Bermuda Grass. The fairways feature 419 Bermuda Grass to provide the best possible playing surface. Although Bermuda has its fair share of sand, Belmont Hills’ bunkers hold the same sand Master’s players try to avoid at Augusta National. Water hazards come in to play on several holes, which is unusual for a Bermudian course (Bermuda doesn’t have any natural creeks or rivers, and only a handful of freshwater ponds).
Two large, man-made ponds complement the dramatic rolling landscape. An automatic irrigation system maintains the tees, fairways, and greens, including Bermuda’s only double green (14,000 square feet), in peak condition. Hundreds of trees have been planted or relocated to define the fairways and to increase safety. Belmont Hills is waiting for you on this Bermuda excursion. Come and play.
Note: This tour departs from the golf club, which is a 30-minute taxi ride from King’s Wharf, and 20 minutes from Hamilton. Taxi fare from Kings Wharf is approximately $40 US each way. (Taxi rate is approximate and not monitored by SEG.) Specific directions will be provided on your e-ticket. The price of the tour includes a golf cart.
Please note: Golf clubs can be rented at the pro shop. TaylorMade are approximately $60 US, right- and left-handed. Shoes are $15 US per pair. The bar and restaurant is open for lunch and dinner; a hospitality cart roams the course.

The Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda stands as a testament to the island's maritime history and naval heritage. Located at the western tip of Bermuda, this historic site was once a major naval base for the British Royal Navy and is now a thriving hub of culture, history, and tourism. The Dockyard's impressive buildings, including the Commissioner's House and the historic fortifications, offer a glimpse into Bermuda's naval past. The Commissioner's House, built in the early 19th century, now houses the National Museum of Bermuda, where visitors can explore exhibits detailing the island's maritime history, from shipwrecks to pirate lore. Visitors can wander through the Dockyard's vibrant Market Place, where local artisans and shops offer a variety of goods, from handcrafted jewelry to Bermudian souvenirs. The area is also home to the Dolphin Quest, where guests can interact with dolphins in a unique and educational experience. The Dockyard's location on the waterfront provides beautiful views and easy access to nearby beaches and recreational activities. Stroll along the historic stone walls and enjoy the scenic beauty of the harbor and the crystal-clear waters of Bermuda (Bermuda Tourism Authority). A highlight of any visit to the Royal Naval Dockyard is the opportunity to explore the impressive maritime artifacts and historical reenactments that bring Bermuda's naval history to life. The Bermuda Maritime Museum offers guided tours and exhibits on Bermuda’s role in naval warfare and trade. Don't miss the chance to experience the Dockyard's annual events, such as the Bermuda Festival of the Performing Arts and the Dockyard Summer Series, which feature local music, dance, and cultural performances. Fun Fact: The Royal Naval Dockyard is home to the Bermuda Rum Cake Company, where you can sample and purchase delicious rum cakes made with Bermuda's own Black Seal Rum. This treat is a beloved local delicacy and makes for a perfect souvenir of your visit. |
