Husky Homestead
Enjoy a warm welcome and experience the true Alaskan lifestyle at Husky Homestead, home of Iditarod Champion Jeff King. This tour is widely heralded as an authentic look into rural lifestyles based on 40 years of Alaskan adventures, from freight hauling on Denali to crossing the finish line in Nome with a champion Iditarod team.
You will be greeted by cuddly puppies and share an intimate view of the Alaskan Husky as they explode from the dog yard on a training run. Get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into creating a championship team and carving a life in Alaska’s Interior. Hear compelling stories from the trail and see actual racing sleds, arctic survival gear, and equipment used to traverse 1100 miles of Alaska’s most rugged terrain.
During your tour, you will meet champion sled dogs, cuddle with the puppies, and see summer training in action. All too soon, all too soon, you will be waving goodbye to the dogs. This tour operates in all weather.
Please Note: If you are staying in the Talkeetna area, (McKinley Princess Lodge, Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge etc.) you are approximately 100 miles from the Denali Park main gate area where this tour departs from. You are responsible for your own transportation to the Denali area.

Denali National Park and Preserve is an adventurer’s paradise! This scenic landscape and arctic tundra in the Alaska wilderness is one of the country’s most beautiful national parks, and with over six millions acres of land, the park offers plenty of exhilarating activities, breathtaking hikes, and majestic sights, all of which will leave you in awe. Go off-roading in an ATV through winding stretches of Denali forests, fly above snow-capped Denali Mountain and the Alaska range, take a rafting excursion along the Talkeetna and Susitna Rivers, or zip-line past massive spruce trees. While in the park, you’ll likely spot some spectacular wildlife, including grizzly bears, golden eagles, moose, and wolves. Untouched by urban light pollution, Denali National Park is the perfect site for stargazing; you may even catch a glimpse of the resplendent Aurora Borealis as it weaves through the sky. |
