Nicole's Table, A Taste Of The Caribbean

Nicole’s Table, A Taste of the Caribbean

They say the best way to discover a new place is through the local flavors of the food for which the area is known for. Discover exactly how delicious this island is by taking a cooking class while you are in port in Antigua. The Caribbean, known for its outstanding and tempting dishes, will provide you with traditional local flavors as well as international influences.

Your culinary adventure begins in an eco-friendly Caribbean home. As a guest, you will be greeted by the owner of the house followed by a non-alcoholic welcome drink before your class starts. Enjoy a few minutes of getting to know the rest of your group and begin to prepare for the educational and fun experience that awaits. Old fashioned Rum Punch will be served to all guests after everyone is finished using “sharp objects”.

Next, your culinary guide and chef will discuss the menu for the day and explain how the course will unfold step by step. This fun and entertaining hands-on experience is great for anyone who loves to be in the kitchen or for those that may be a novice. Depending on the menu for the day, you might either enjoy an “All about Jerk” course that explores jerk seasoning and flavors or a “Coordinating Curry” class which introduces you to West Indian curry and the unleavened breads of Roti and Bus Up Shot.

Once you have finalized your gastronomical masterpiece, sit down and enjoy a family-style meal on the home’s beautiful veranda. You will eat, drink, have fun, and meet and make new friends while enjoying breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea in a relaxed and idyllic atmosphere. This is a day you will always remember fondly as the tastes of the island will have tempted your palette in a new and exciting way as you take home recipes to savor for more incredible meals in your future.
