Our adventure truly begins at Areinho, one of the entrances to the Paiva Walkways. Prepare to be amazed as we climb around 300 steps, leading us to the incredible Arouca Suspension Bridge. Suspended 175 meters above the Paiva River, this engineering marvel offers unparalleled views of the surrounding landscape, including the Aguieira Waterfall and the picturesque Paiva River.
The journey continues as we follow the Paiva Walkways, tracing the river’s meandering path. You’ll have the freedom to set your own pace and immerse yourself in the surrounding wilderness. Halfway through the hike, take a well-deserved break at Vau Beach, then press on to Espiunca, where our hiking adventure concludes.
From Espiunca, we’ll make a brief connection to Alvarenga, where a local restaurant awaits with a delectable meal featuring the famous Arouquesa meat, among other options.
