Puerto De Soller And Valldemossa
Over the years Port de Soller transformed from a hidden village on a horseshoe-shaped bay to a sophisticated vacation destination. You and your guide will cross the valleys of orange trees by coach to Port de Soller where you will have some free time to wander this picturesque fishing port and stroll along the beach. The village boasts a quiet, relaxed vibe despite its many shops, bars, and restaurants.
From there you will continue up the coastal road to the village of Valldemossa, best known for its famous landmark the Royal Charterhouse of Valldemossa. This 14th century palace was the summer residence for many royals, then a monastery, and today is a popular museum. The 13th century monastery hosted Frederic Chopin during the winter of 1838 where he composed his Preludes Op. 28. That same year it also hosted George Sand who authored the book A Winter in Mallorca.
Noted mystic and philosopher Ramon Llull lived in Valldemossa for a time, and distinguished traveler and cultural writer, the Austrian Archduke Ludwig Salvator has promoted the area internationally in recent years. While here you will have free time to explore the town and visit the shops and restaurants.
Immerse yourself in early Spanish culture when you sign up for this 6-hour tour of Valldemossa and Port de Soller.
