France's capital and most populated city, Paris is an alluring destination and an essential stop for any global traveler. A center of fashion, gastronomy, arts and finance, Paris is also a major transportation hub, and will host the 2024 Olympics.
Major tourist attractions in the City of Lights include the Eiffel Tower (such great heights!), the Louvre (home of the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo), the Arc de Triomphe, and Grand Palais. (The famous Notre Dame Cathedral is currently closed indefinitely for renovation due to a 2019 fire.) Marquee annual events in this world-renowned city include Bastille Day (July 14 each year, including flyovers, a military parade and fireworks) and Paris-Plages (mid-July to mid-August), where a temporary beach — complete with sand, chairs and palm trees — is created on the Right bank of the Seine River. Cobblestone walkways, beautiful bridges, breathtaking architecture, radiant streetlamps... Paris has ambiance to spare. Whether sitting at a cafe or actively exploring timeless landmarks and art, millions of visitors have discovered that Paris contains multitudes. |

Luxembourg City, the capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, is a stunning blend of medieval charm and modern sophistication. Perched atop dramatic cliffs and surrounded by deep gorges, this city offers a unique and breathtaking landscape. The UNESCO-listed Old Town is an essential starting point for visitors, with its ancient fortifications, narrow cobblestone streets, and grand squares. A stroll across the Adolphe Bridge provides panoramic views of the lush valleys and the modern cityscape, a perfect representation of Luxembourg’s seamless fusion of history and progress. One of the city's key attractions is the Bock Casemates, an underground network of tunnels carved into the rock during the 17th century. These fortifications played a crucial role in the city's defense and are now a fascinating historical site. From there, head to the Grand Ducal Palace, the official residence of Luxembourg’s Grand Duke, where visitors can marvel at the elegant Renaissance architecture and, in the summer months, even enjoy guided tours of the palace’s opulent interiors. Luxembourg City is not just about history. Its vibrant cultural scene features cutting-edge galleries, theaters, and a mix of European cuisines. This 2,000-year-old city, where the Teutonic Order founded one of its first commanderies in the 13th century, lies on the convergence of the Moselle and Rhine Rivers. Hop on a cable car, one of the city's most popular attractions, for stunning city-wide views, or cruise down the Rhine to spot some of Koblenz's magnificent fortresses and castles, including the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress and Schloss Stolzenfels. Stroll the cobbled streets from the Deutsches Eck statue to the city center, and you'll likely pass by a variety of historic buildings and monuments. |

Boppard, the pearl of the Rhein, gets its nickname from the fact that it is situated on part of a horse-shoe ben in the Rhein, resembling a pearl in an oyster shell. This bend is one of the most severe anywhere on the Rhein, so much so that the town frontage faces due north while the vineyards, one the same band face due south. The bend is also known as the "bendiest bend on the Rhein." Boppard is an old town, founded in Roman times, with much evidence of its early beginnings carefully preserved.
As well as having many attractions of its own, Boppard is an ideal base for which to explore this part of Germany, in particular "The Valley of the Lorelei". The city of Koblenz is just thirteen minutes away by train and Mainz is just forty minutes. If you like walking in forests, you have but a ten minute walk to be there. |

This city in the Rhine Gorge is known for its winemaking, dramatic landscapes and 15-minute cable car ride to the Niederwald Monument (celebrating the German victory over France in 1871). Don't miss the Bavarian buildings and Siegfried's Mechanical Music Cabinet, which houses automated musical instruments. Wine lovers will also appreciate the Rheingau Wine Museum, where the exhibits focus on the craft of winemaking through the ages. |

Located in central Germany, Frankfurt is a vibrant cultural and economic hub nestled on the Main River. Museums and architectural gems abound in Frankfurt, from the Goethe House, to the picturesque timber houses of Römerberg town square, to the Museumsufer, a collection of museums lining the banks of the Main. |

Intended by Henry II, Duke of Bavaria to be the "second Rome", Bamberg is a gem of a UNESCO World Heritage site! The medieval layout of the city is still very well preserved, including the Altes Rathaus, which occupies an island in the Regnitz reached by arched bridges. |

Nuremberg is Bavaria’s second-largest city and for centuries was the undeclared capital of the Holy Roman Empire. There is plenty to do and see, starting with picturesque charm of the Old Town, situated at the foot of the Kaiserburg. There are over 54 different museums dedicated to everything from arts and culture, history, science and technology, family and children, and more niche categories, where visitors can see the world's oldest globe, a 500-year-old Madonna, and Renaissance-era German art. Make sure to treat your taste buds to local beer, famous Nuremberg sausages, and Lebkuchen (gingerbread). Purchase a Nuremberg Fürth Card, which gives you free admission to over 50 museums and attractions for 2 days. |

The dazzling capital of the Czech Republic, the explorable Prague has fittingly been nicknamed "the City of a Hundred Spires." Halved by the Vltava River and notable for architecture Baroque, Renaissance, and Gothic, visitors will find much to take in here. Stroll Old Town Square, bear witness to Astronomical clock's hourly show, marvel at the immense Prague Castle, and be sure to cross the Charles Bridge, with its continuous alley of Catholic statues. And don't miss the breathtaking stained glass at St. Vitus Cathedral.
When in Prague, a cruise on the picturesque Vltava provides great views of the city from a new perspective. Nightlife is plentiful, with many jazz music venues, clubs and pubs to choose from. Beer has also become a great reason to be in Prague, with excellent regional and microbrewed libations delighting thirsty travelers.
