Starting and ending at the picturesque village of Sete Cidades, a half-hour drive from Ponta Delgada, the tour begins with a safety instruction on how to operate the e-bike. Once equipped, your unforgettable journey kicks off!
Your pedals will take you across the bridge separating the Blue and Green Lakes, leading to the tranquil Peninsula and the serene picnic spot at Baia do Silencio, or Bay of Silence. A gentle dirt track brings you back to the bridge and prepares you for a steep climb up the main road. Here, you can relish the views from Lagoa de Santiago (Santiago Lagoon) and Cerrado das Freiras (Nuns Haven) viewpoints.
Continuing the ascend, you will finally reach the majestic Viewpoint of Vista do Rei (Kings’ View), offering panoramic views of the enchanting Blue and Green Lakes and the erstwhile Monte Palace hotel. The tour then takes a more adventurous turn along the Cumeeira Pequena (Small Summit Rim).
Concluding at the Lomba do Vasco Viewpoint, you will cycle down into the heart of Sete Cidades, passing by the Church Matriz de Sao Nicolau and returning to the starting point.
