St Thomas PADI Discover Scuba Course
Never been scuba diving? Now’s the perfect time, and St. Thomas is the perfect place to start.
Prior to the dive, before arrival, review the medical questionnaire. It is very IMPORTANT to review the medical questions. NO NEED to print the form, it is to be viewed before registering for the discover scuba dive, to make sure that a medical release is not needed. If you answer “YES” to any question, you can’t participate in this St. Thomas excursion. Please check link to the medical questionnaire below. You will then begin the first step of your PADI Discover Scuba Dive. During the dry land lesson, your instructor will explain the most important rules of scuba diving, along with the basic skills needed while diving. The beginner scuba lesson will be concise and designed to inform but not confuse.
The group maximum while diving is four students per Instructor on this St. Thomas excursion.
After the dry land lesson, you will suit up, enter the water along a sandy shore (conditions may vary with the weather), and practice the skills covered in the lesson with your instructor. The walk is approximately 20 ft. into the water.
After gaining confidence through practice, you will submerge. Watch your instructor feed the fish as you begin your guided dive along a live coral reef, floating weightlessly. You will also be visited by a variety of tropical fish, and just might encounter a turtle or stingray. During your dive, your air gauge will be carefully monitored by your instructor.
The dive portion typically lasts about 30-40 minutes, depending on air consumption and to a maximum depth of 40 feet, depending on your comfort level. You will be surprised by how quickly you will relax! Your scuba dive will be an experience you will remember the rest of your life.
If time allows after completing your dive, we invite you to stay and snorkel or enjoy Coki Beach. Taxis back to the cruise piers can be hired near the dive shop upon your return to shore.
PLEASE NOTE: Health restrictions apply, and participants must review the medical questionnaire, and a medical evaluation and release form must be shown to the dive center if needed. Please CLICK HERE. to review and sign the forms. Please read the forms carefully, as you may be required to be examined by a physician before you will be permitted to participate on this tour, depending on your medical history.
