Wadi Shab Adventure

Wadi Shab Adventure

You will depart Muscat in the morning and drive along the coast toward the city of Sur. After a photo stop at the Bamah sinkhole (swimming in the sinkhole lake is possible) and the long white Fins Beach, we will arrive at Wadi Shab.

Discover this natural, enormous canyon gorge lined with palm trees and impressive indications of what the power of the water coming down the mountains can do.

After an approximately 45-minute walk through the Wadi Canyon, you will reach the first of the famous crystal clear pools. Here we change into swimwear, leave our belongings behind, and start swimming and walking into a smaller canyon. After swimming/walking through the water, we come to the last pool. Here the water is deep and you will have to swim to cross to the other side.

Next, you will find there is a small gap in the wall among the large rocks that will allow us to swim through into a fantastic cave with a small waterfall inside. This is the highlight of the trip, witness the sunlight filtering in from outside turning the water into a beautiful turquoise blue color while the water showers down one side of the cave from the wadi beyond.

After you have worked up an appetite, enjoy a nice relaxing picnic before the drive back to Muscat.

Please Note: If you don’t want to swim, you can stay near the first pools where the water is shallow. The wadi is strewn with rocks of all sizes and can make walking difficult, it is recommended guests be in good physical shape to participate in this tour. Bring sun protection, a hat, sunglasses, sturdy walking shoes, swimwear, and a beach towel.
