The restored Gothic St Thomas Church is one of Leipzig’s top attractions, steeped in an 800-year history. This historic site hosted lectures by Martin Luther, organ recitals by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and the baptism of Richard Wagner. Most notably, it is where Johann Sebastian Bach served as cantor for 27 years. The church houses Bach’s sarcophagus, making it an essential stop for those exploring the city.
