Flea Markets

Leipzig's flea markets are a treasure trove of keepsakes, from GDR-era memorabilia to exotic knick-knacks. With over a dozen markets scattered across the city, there's plenty to explore. The city centre market at the market square, which is probably the most popular, operates every Tuesday and Friday from 9am to 5pm. Additionally, from March to November, on the first Sunday of each month, the Old Trade Fair of Leipzig (Alte Messe Leipzig) transforms into a haven for antique hunters, offering a wide array of vintage items.

Shopping

Leipzig is a shopper's paradise, offering a range of fantastic shopping options from exclusive boutiques and elegant shopping arcades to traditional food and antiques markets. For luxury shopping, head to Mädler Passage, which leads to Königshaus and Messehofspassage. For local souvenirs and books, explore the arcades near the Old Town Hall. Don't miss the beautifully refurbished Specks Hof and Barthels Hof, along with the city’s newest and most modern shopping destinations in Städtisches Kaufhaus, Strohsack-Passage, and Petersbogen. For fresh regional food and agricultural products, the market near Leipzig Central Stadium on Saturdays is the place to go.
