Golkonda Fort

Steeped in history and architectural brilliance, Golkonda Fort is a sprawling fortress situated just 11 km from Hyderabad city centre. Originally built in the 13th century and later expanded by the Qutb Shahi dynasty, the fort features grand gates, intricate carvings, and impressive acoustics that once allowed messages to be heard over vast distances. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Hyderabad from its highest point and explore its many palaces and mosques. The evening sound and light show, narrated by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, vividly brings the fort’s storied past to life.
