A great way to sample Tenerife's cuisine is to try one of the island's local delicacies, like the Papas Arrugadas served with red or green mojo sauce. There is a rich variety dishes to excite foodies, such as the Canarian stew made with mixed vegetables and meat, as well as melt-in-your-mouth grilled sardines. Honey is a popular dessert ingredient, and the island offers unique tasting honey obtained from endemic species like the Teide broom.
