Public Transport

Dolmuş is a shared minibus or van that operates on set routes, picking up and dropping off passengers along the way. These minibuses provide an affordable and flexible means of public transportation in İzmir, connecting various neighbourhoods and locations within the city. Passengers can hail a dolmuş at designated stops, and the fare is usually paid directly to the driver upon boarding. Ferries shuttle between Konak and Alsancak. The return crossing takes 1 hr 15 mins. The metro is probably the least effective way of getting around İzmir.
