Visit Fort Macon State Park and see a part of history. The Civil War fort serves as a museum that honors the brave men who fought for their rights. Fort Macon provides public access to the beaches of the Crystal Coast, as the park is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, Beaufort Inlet, and Bogue Sound. The area is also undisturbed with natural salt marshes and estuaries vital to the coastal ecosystem.
