The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

From Italian Renaissance culture and Asian handicrafts to the giant badminton shuttlecock in front of the building, what is on display at this museum easily spans hundreds of years of human art history. Admission is free to most exhibitions, and once you get your fix of classical and contemporary art, you can finish the tour at the cafe or the restaurant on the spot.
