Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) owned by the county is a public-use airport located 3 miles southwest of the central business district of Myrtle Beach, and about 13 miles from Murrells Inlet. Allegiant Air and Spirit Air handle most of the traffic to and from the airport, including to destinations like Chicago, Boston, Detroit, and New York, though many routes are only seasonal. Shuttle services are available to Murrells Inlet, as are taxis, and several car rental companies are present, but there is no public transportation.
